Abstract. The electrical properties of superconducting Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O samples prepared under various conditions from the 4334, 1112, 5.32 4 2 2.68, 3.7 336, 4336 and 4335 precursors were investigated. With higher quantity 2223-phase the sample properties are less sensitive to the oxidation procedure. The slow kinetics of the 2223-phase formation is attributed to the insertion in the 2212-lattice of additional CuO2-Ca-CuO2-slab, as well as to the occurrence of the Ca2CuO3-phase. It is concluded that the 2223-phase may be directly formed by fast sintering from an optimal precursor.
