Abstract. The external modulation of cosmic rays (CR) due to the electric potential, induced by the solar wind (SW), creates complementary fluxes of particles across some regions of the boundary - the poles during one modulation cycle, the equatorial zone in the next one. We study the combined effects of external modulation, drift, latitudinal and rigidity dependence of the diffusion coeffi?cient on the modulation of CR in the heliosphere. Our results give a clue to determine the con?tribution of the external modulation and the mode of diffusion to the anomalous component (AC).
