Abstract. The association of butanols with chlorobenzene, aniline and pyridine in a nonpolar medium, i. e. benzene, has been investigated by dielectric technique. The apparent complex formation constant and induced polarization due to H-bonding have been evaluated and their values are found to be in the order: pyridine > aniline > chlorobenzene. These two parameters have been used to study the structural composition of binary mixtures involving proton donor and proton acceptor molecules.
