Gas Dynamic Control of Arc Voltage and Power of Plasma Torch

Abstract. The controlled variation of the arc voltage of d.c. plasmatrons without changing the arc current and the total gas consumption are studied in this paper. By locating gas dynamically the cathode spot, the plasma torch power has been changed by more than 50 per cent.
