Abstract. Infrared pyroelectric deteclors opernting at ambient temperature have been construcled. The devices are based on capacitance structure with thin wafer (50 μm) of PZT ferroelectric ceramics mounted on isolative substrate by flip-chip solder interconnection technique. The thermal properties optimization of the system with various ceramics and substrates has been studied experimentally. The developed sensors are inexpensive IR detectors with broad spectral response suitable for laser beam detection and measurement in the visible and infrared ranges. Performance characteristics of the proposed devices and some design parameters are presented.
